"That zeemz agreeable to me. If Kyanaz haz no objectionz?"
"It would be for the best if we did share duties, yyes. Divide and conquer, yyou know."
Oh thank god. That's one situation successfully defused. Stebia had a sneaking suspicion that as long as Isaard and Lerena refused to admit their feelings about each other and just held them down like boiling pots, she was going to have to auspitize between them like crazy. Maybe she could get the others to help.
"so what do you guys want to do? )ike, a skit, or what?"
"Fine, but I'm writing the script."
Since when did Isaard care about script-writing? Oh, right. He probably either wanted to take more power out of Lerena's hands (because he haaaaated her!) or to keep their adaptation as close to the book as possible. Knowing him, he wouldn't let anyone make any changes to it because of 'desecrating a perfectly g(..)(..)d piece of literature' or something like that. Either way, it was going to take up a lot of his free time. She knew he would want to make it perfect if he did it all by himself, and then he wouldn't have time to talk to her or do anything he liked to do. He was going to need help.
"Isaard, you're not going to write it all by yourself. (--an I help?"

"It would be for the best if we did share duties, yyes. Divide and conquer, yyou know."
Lerena nodded her agreement. Divide and conquer indeed. Kyanas had an oddly military mind, even for a troll. Besides, co-leadership could mean that Lerena could put Kyanas in charge of Isaard and then never have to deal with that obnoxious nookwhiffer again.
"so what do you guys want to do? )ike, a skit, or what?"
Lerena knew Aruale was more creative than that. Likely she just wanted to get this over with. Lerena wished that Aruale would put her mind to better use. It wasn't that she wasn't intelligent, rather that she had no desire for academic advancement. Which was not at all something that Lerena could understand, having been raised from an early age to believe that your position in comparison to everyone else is the most important thing in life to improve, but to each their own.
"Fine, but I'm writing the script."
NO. No no no no! Isaard was not going to defile this project with his idiotic ideas. He would do nothing but ruin everything. Knowing him, he would refuse to change absolutely anything, being the stickler for perfect accuracy that he is. Idiot. She knew that that was not what the teacher wanted, and it would get a terrible grade. They were going to need to be creative and stand out, and sticking absolutely to the book was not at all the way to do that.
"Isaard, you're not going to write it all by yourself. (--an I help?"
"Actually, Ztebia," Lerena said, smiling at her, "I think we zhould all help. After all, it'z a bit zelfish for juzt one troll to get to have all the fun, izn't it?" She turned her smile to Isaard, keeping it within the range of politeness. She knew very well he wouldn't like having to work with other trolls on something. That was the point.

Kratus was awake, but that didn't count for much. He was getting himself worked up into a very un-chill mood. Seriously, another project? He couldn't stand school projects, and he always procrastinated to the last minute anyway. As if that weren't bed enough he had two of the meanest trolls that he knew on his team, not to mention the extreme tight-nook that was Kyanas. Sweet Baby Sufferer was he sick of this place, he had to get out of here somehow. Kratus tried to distract himself by listening to the conversation. Lerena and Isaard were engaged in some kind of 'subtle' hate flirting over who was the leader of the project. Good Gog, could neither of them tell that the other had blackrom feelings for the other? Everyone with a functioning thinkpan could see it, and while Kratus didn't hold school in very high regard, he knew that this was neither the time or the place for this. When will those two just shut up and hate-pail each other? Wait... did he say that out loud?

The issue of leadership seems to have been decided, and Kyanas leaned back in her seat to wait this part of the conversation out. Her skills lay with delegation and structure, not with the inception of ideas themselves.
Aruale suggested a skit, but Kyanas winced a bit. A skit was the first thing anyone thought of, because it involved very little writing or analysis of the text. Most groups in the class were probably doing skits, most of them straight from the book with minimal updating.
And then Isaard piped up, immediately and without any sort of excitement. "Fine, but I'm writing the script."
He didn't actually want to write the script for a skit, but he wanted to keep anyone else from screwing it up, that was plain to see. That blueblood was very attached to the original text, Kyanas thought. Well, there was certainly nothing wrong with that, it was a lovely book. The problem with choosing to write a script for a skit was that the group was not even sure what chapter they were going to do, much less what sort of project to do.
And of course Stebia was the first to offer help. She looked very enthusiastic, eager to assist, and her excitement was sort of catchy. Kyanas thought it was a waste of energy.
But then Lerena came up with the argument that all of them should participate, which Isaard would not take kindly. She even said it with politeness that rung absolutely false. "After all, it'z a bit zelfish for juzt one troll to get to have all the fun, izn't it?"
That was a bit uncalled for. Kyanas would voice a complaint as soon as she talked about their lack of chapter to script. Kratus apparently had other ideas though, or at least his brain didn't bother to censor his thoughts, so he came out with a sleepy intonation of "When will you guys just shut up and hate-pail each other?"
Kyanas was more than a little shocked, and her mouth (which had been open in preparation for speaking) snapped shut with a pronounced click. It opened again, but she thought better of the phrase, and she closed it more quietly this time.
"That was uncalled for, Kratus. Trulyy." She let that sink in for a moment, before continuing.
"We don't even know what chapter we are rewriting, let's pick a chapter before we decide what to do with it."

"When will you guys just shut up and hate-pail each other?"
Oh. Oh god. No. Kratus. Ugh. This was exactly why Kratus should stop coming to school when he's this baked, Aruale thought. He can't stop his stupid mouth, and then he says stuff like this. Yeah, it's painfully obvious, but goddamn. Uncalled for. Aruale was very close to hitting her head on the desk, but decided that groaning would better convey her frustration in a less obvious fashion. She kicked Kratus under the table for good measure.
Aruale looked over at Lerena and saw her mortified face, mouth moving but no words coming out. Yep. Flustered as all hell. Kratus had hit the fastening spike right on the head. She didn't even bother looking at Isaard's reaction, because she did not want to have anything to do with the glare he must be giving something right now. Aruale was grateful for Lerena's sake when Kyanas changed the subject.
"We don't even know what chapter we are rewriting, let's pick a chapter before we decide what to do with it."
Smart. Aruale opened her mouth to respond when the bell cut her off. Among the mized sounds of chairs scraping and bookbags rustling, Aruale caught Lerena's eye and winced sympathetically, getting a pained look in return. Aruale had a feeling that Lerena was going to take this out on somebody very soon.

Well now, this situation certainly presented a problem to Isaard. He could lose his temper and tear Tetrix a new one. He could angrily protest that he in no way had Black-rom feelings for that fish blooded "Azzhole." However today he just rolled his eyes and turned to leave when the bell rang. In truth Isaard didn't care what trolls said or thought of him, it's not like he talked to them outside of brief moments of forced interaction anyway. Hell, if he was being completely honest with himself he didn't care about most of the trolls here. It was almost surreal, walking around in this place all day recognizing faces but either not knowing or not caring who these trolls were. This, coupled with Isaard's assumed angry disposition at school had gotten him into trouble more than few times. Nothing to write home about mind you, mostly it was about him making snarky comments when another student said something irritating enough to deserve a response. As he was leaving Isaard took a cursory glance at Lerena. Yup she was flustered all right, he made a mental note to thank Tetrix for finding a way to knock her off balance like that. This would of course make things a bit awkward in his next class, Bio-2, but coldly maneuvering through unwanted high school drama was his specialty. However, all that would have to wait until after lunch time, or more accurately, discreetly consume a sandwich in the library while enjoying the relative silence time. Isaard moved quickly and vanished among the crowd.
